NOTE: This feature is only available with Little Reader Pro.
Creating new words for your library is also easy, fun and simple! You can expand your library by adding new words, images, recordings, videos, and picture audio.
How to Create a Word in a Category
- Go to the Play & Edit screen (Advanced Play / Edit screen for Little Reader 2.x or below) and choose to display Categories.
- Select the Category you want to add a new word to.
- Click on the NEW (+) button below the Word List. The NEW Word window will pop up.
- In the Word(s) text box (beside the file name box), type in the word as you want it to appear during playback. You may also insert "/" marks to divide your new word into syllables or parts (Example: "mom/my," "bot/tle," "note/book").
- After you have finished adding all your media to the word file, select the Other tab, and then type in a name for your word file in the Word file name box. If you want Little Reader to suggest a name for your word file, click on the AUTO-SUGGEST button. Once done, click on the SAVE button.
How to Add a Pronunciation Recording
- To add your pre-recorded pronunciation of the word, select the Word Slide tab, and then click on the ADD button in the Pronunciation audio file(s) section.
- Locate the audio file in your computer.
- Click on the Open button.
- Click on the PLAY button to preview your audio file.
NOTE: Little Reader supports .mp3, .wav, and .wma audio file types.
How to Add a Picture
- To add photo/s for your new word, select the Picture Slide tab, and then click on the ADD button in the Picture(s) section.
- Locate the photo or image file in your computer.
- Click on the Open button. Your selected image will then appear in the Picture preview box.
NOTE: Little Reader supports .jpg, .bmp, .gif, and .png image file types.
How to Add a Video
- To add video/s for your new word, select the Video Slide tab, and click on the ADD button in the Video section.
- Locate the video file in your computer.
- Click on the Open button. A screen capture of your selected video will then appear in the Video preview box.
NOTE: Little Reader supports .swf, .avi, .mpg, and .wmv video file types.
How to Add Picture Audio
- To add picture audio, select the Picture Slide tab, and then click on the ADD button.
- Locate the audio file in your computer.
- Click on the Open button.
- Click on the PLAY button to preview your audio file.
- If you want the pronunciation to play instead of the picture audio when a picture is flashed during playback, enable the Play Pronunciation Instead option.
