Sometimes you may encounter problems when using the Easy Voice Recorder and Picture Editor tools that come in your Little Reader, but these can be fixed easily by repairing or reinstalling your software, or by fixing your codec problems (for Easy Voice Recorder issues).

1. Easy Voice Recorder / Picture Editor does not open at all

If you are trying to open either Easy Voice Recorder or Picture Editor from inside Little Reader (from the Edit Word window, or from the Tools screen), try opening the program directly from your Start menu:

• Click on Start and go to All Programs
• Click on the BrillKids Folder, and open the Little Reader folder
• Click on Easy Voice Recorder or Picture Editor
  

Alternatively, open My Computer and navigate to the following path to open Easy Voice Recorder or Picture Editor:

• C:\Program Files\BrillKids\Little Reader\VoiceRecorder\EasyVoiceRecorder.exe
• C:\Program Files\BrillKids\Little Reader\PictureEditor\Picture Editor.exe

If it still doesn't open, try doing a Repair of your Little Reader, or upgrade to the latest version of Little Reader (if you haven't upgraded yet).

2. Easy Voice Recorder / Picture Editor crashes whenever I use it

There can be many causes for why programs crash, and you may want to try looking through any or all of these and see which fixes the problem for you:

• Some important files used by the software are missing or corrupted. Try reinstalling, or Repairing Little Reader.
• Make sure your computer has enough processing power to run Little Reader and all the tools that come with it.
• A virus may be causing problems in Easy Voice Recorder / Picture Editor and perhaps other programs in your computer. Try running a full system scan using your Anti-Virus software, or if you don't have any Anit-Virus program, you may consider getting one.
• Does Easy Voice Recorder / Picture Editor crash especially when you try opening or editing specific files? If this is the case, the file itself might be corrupted, or it's in a format that's not supported by the program.

3. I cannot access Easy Voice Recorder and Picture Editor from Little Math. Can I not use those tools for Little Math?

If you have both Little Reader and Little Math, you may use the media tools included in Little Reader to record pronunciations or create icons for your Little Math media sets. Simply open Easy Voice Recorder or Picture Editor from your Start menu (refer to steps above) and you'll be able to use these tools for your math recordings and icons!

Once you've finished recording or making icons, the next step is to create your Little Math media sets.

4. My recordings have a bad quality or the volume is too soft

First off, check and make sure that your hardware (microphone) works and that the volume level is correct. You can also try speaking a little louder or moving closer to the mic when recording, and use the audio quality enhancement options in Easy Voice Recorder (e.g., "Normalize"). Lastly, you may use the Audio Diagnostic Tool to quickly troubleshoot and fix any audio codec problems in your computer.
