No Sound in Little Reader Touch

If you don't hear any sounds when playing your Little Reader Touch lessons, try any or all of our tips below and see if these help solve the problem:

1. Check your device volume settings

Little Reader Touch does not have an in-app volume setting, so the loudness or softness of all audio in the lessons will depend on the volume level set in your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

2. Make sure that your device isn't on mute

Your iPad or iPhone side switch (beside the volume up/down button) may have been set as a mute switch, and if it's turned on, there won't be any sound in Little Reader Touch. Note that putting your device on mute overrides the device volume too (even if you turn the volume up or down), and this will definitely remove all audio from your Little Reader Touch app.

Please launch the Settings app and go to General > Use Side Switch and check if you've actually set your side switch to "Mute." If this is the case, slide your side switch OFF to un-mute your device and check if sounds start to work in Little Reader Touch.

3. Restart Little Reader Touch

Remove or Uninstall Little Reader Touch and re-install it, OR upgrade the app
Make sure you have the latest version of Little Reader Touch by checking the App Store for any app updates.

4. Restart your device

If you continue to have problems even after trying ALL of the tips above, contact BrillKids Support and include the following details:

  • Which device(s) are you having this problem in? (Please mention if it's iPad 1 or 2, iPhone 4s or 5, etc.)
  • Which iOS version is currently installed in your device?
  • Which version of the app are you using?
